Project Description
For this project, WEIMA provided supporting equipment for the expansion of Taiwan Union Technology Corporation's glue mixing production line in Taiwan, China. Targeting the explosion-proof motors required for the core equipment of this production line—the reactors—WEIMA leveraged its over sixteen years of deep experience in the industrial drive sector to successfully secure the order, ultimately supplying 68 TECO AEUF model TS-certified explosion-proof motors as supporting equipment for the reactors.
All these motors were imported from Taiwan into Mainland China, delivered to the equipment manufacturer’s factory, where they were assembled into complete reactor units. After assembly, the complete reactor units were re-exported to Taiwan Union’s glue mixing production line site in Taiwan. This project involved a closed-loop trade process of “import – assembly – re-export”, covering the import into Mainland China, processing and re-export to Taiwan. Therefore, special customs clearance procedures such as exemption certificates for CCC and energy efficiency certifications were required. Additionally, since the reactors would be used in Taiwan, the explosion-proof motors assembled into the complete equipment had to meet Taiwan’s regulatory requirements for explosion-proof electrical devices and obtain TS certification from the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The motors were all manufactured by TECO, which enjoys high brand recognition and reliability in the chemical and electronic materials industries.

This batch of motors will be deployed in the core power transmission applications throughout the pulping line, including pulping, screening, conveying and mixing processes etc.. Its stable and efficient running will provide a solid foundation for enhancing pulp quality, production capacity increase and optimizing energy consumption across the entire production line.

TECO permanent magnet motor DVEV/DVEX has the following features:

1. Ford collaborating with CATL to establish a battery plant in the USA.
Ford is collaborating with CATL to invest $3.5 billion in the construction of battery factory in Michigan, USA. Ford will own 100% share of the battery plant, including the building and infrastructure, while CATL will provide battery patent technology licensing and assist in the operation of the factory. Throughout the collaboration, CATL will act as the technology licensor, receiving royalties from the technology but will not make direct financial investments.
2.EPC FLSmidth Engineering - Albemarle - Lithium Hydroxide Project in the USA
FLSmidth is responsible for providing engineering, procurement, and construction management services for the Albermarle - Lithium Hydroxide project. Lithium is an essential precursor material for high-performance lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles. Once completed, the plant will produce 50,000 tons of lithium hydroxide annually.
3. China AESC Establishes a Battery Plant in South Carolina, USA.
AESC becomes the power battery supplier for the new generation of BMW Group vehicle models. On October 19, BMW Group announced a strategic partnership with Envision Group's subsidiary AESC who will provide cylindrical batteries for BMW's new generation of models starting in 2026.
Meanwhile, AESC will build a battery plant in South Carolina to supply the BMW Group's Spartanburg plant located in the same state. This will be the 13th battery production facility of AESC established worldwide.
